Nubra, which means an orchard or a garden, is a picturesque green valley with milder climate as compared to the rest of Ladakh. Two rivers Nubra and the Shayok provide an agricultural wonderland of apple and apricot orchards, willow and the poplar trees and various crops like wheat, barley, peas, buck wheat and millet. The legendary Great Silk Route, once traced its wealthy way through this stunning valley, surrounded by towering mountains.
